Position Description:
- Full-time, non-exempt position
- Western Division – Greenwood Village, Colorado
- Reports to Western Division Director and Administrative Assistant II; supports Western Division Assistant Director
- 90-day Introductory period; at-will employment
Applicant Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, with some college coursework
- One-two years prior office experience in a similar position
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, Internet and on-line research
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Work under pressure of deadlines and be able to handle multi-tasking with skills in prioritizing
- Skilled in use of general office equipment
- Self-starter, ability to work independently
- Ability to take directions and complete assignments from multiple managers
Job Description:
- Responsible for answering phones and greeting visitors
- Ordering supplies for the office and maintaining office equipment, as well as ordering various supplies for the equipment.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating various training sessions and other meetings, including room preparation, registration process, and catering needs. Also responsible for preparing binders, training materials and other needs as required for each session.
- Prepare and mail materials to various off-site training locations throughout the Division by using UPS and/or Federal Express.
- Responsible for tracking various budgetary items, such as cost of supplies and meeting planning.
- Data entry as needed into the AVID website.
Other projects as assigned by the Division Director, the Assistant Director and the Administrative Assistant II.

Assistant Director, Western Division
Position Description:
Under the direction of the Western Division Director, assist in leading, managing, overseeing and coordinating activities associated with the Division. Primary focus is toward professional development, site retention, site growth, and development.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plans, directs and coordinates the Division’s professional development efforts, works with the Division Director, Headquarter directors/managers, monitors and reviews the division consultants’ work.
- Works with the Division Director to develop and implement expansion plans that enhance quality and increase the number of sites.
- Coordinates and supports events in conjunction with the Division Director and other AVID Center directors/managers.
- Coordinates divisional quality efforts, including data collection and certification.
- Works with the Division Director to promote school-wide and district-wide programs.
- Assists in creating educational, curriculum, and marketing materials.
- Provides outreach support by presenting at and attending various functions and conferences.
- Advises management of potential program risks and provides solutions based on the objectives established by management.
- Performs other similar duties assigned by the Division or Company.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills; proven knowledge of AVID program.
- Proven success in overseeing and completing assignments and tasks in a timely manner.
- High level of integrity, wisdom, presence, discretion, and ethics.
- Results-oriented, positive and proactive, solution-focused approach is required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and maintain a high level of internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrates flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks and to anticipate needs and accurately sense urgency and sensitivity of a situation.
Ability To:
- Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches.
- Identify areas for improvement and initiate corrective actions.

Experience and Education:
- Postgraduate degree (or substantial credits) in education or related field preferred.
- Five or more years of progressive teaching, administration or district office experience.

- Ability to write routine reports, and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively with clients and employees.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
Work Environment:
- Typical office conditions, low to moderate noise, generally quiet.
