Enrollment is open for in-person professional learning through AVID Path to Schoolwide® and virtual professional learning through AVID ElevateXP™.

AVID Path to Schoolwide
12 Hours of Learning

AVID Path to Schoolwide training focuses on implementing AVID WICOR® (writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading) strategies in all classrooms, as well as leadership support for schoolwide implementation. Based on the teacher-developed, classroom-proven AVID College and Career Readiness Framework, AVID Path to Schoolwide provides rigorous, sequential curriculum that promotes student achievement at the highest levels.

Virtual Professional Learning
AVID ElevateXP
12 Hours of Learning

AVID ElevateXP is a virtual supportive professional learning experience offering new strategies, tools, and resources that amplify best practices for educators and administrators. Participants will experience and apply high-engagement strategies to build rigorous and connected learning communities. Share experiences with a peer group and stay connected through the discussion forum and collaborative coaching and support sessions.

This strand is reserved for middle school and high school educators serving as first-year AVID Elective classroom teachers and AVID coordinators who teach the AVID Elective class.
Tutorology +

Tutorology is designed for second-year AVID Elective teachers and AVID Site Coordinators who teach the AVID Elective class.
AVID Elementary: Foundations Implementation (3–6) +

This strand is designed for grade 3–6 educators who are new to AVID Elementary.
Culturally Relevant Teaching: Transforming Educators +

This strand is designed for AVID administrators, coordinators, AVID Elective teachers, and Site Team members to provide a framework of effective methodologies that validate the cultures of all students in the classroom and on the campus.
Digital Teaching and Learning – Foundations: Secondary +

This strand brings educators together to experience and explore digital strategies and resources in a blended learning environment.
Academic Language and Literacy: A Schoolwide Approach +

This strand is designed for schoolwide content teachers to support academic language and literacy in elementary and secondary classroom settings.
Reading for Disciplinary Literacy: A Schoolwide Approach +

This strand focuses on implementing research-based reading practices across all content areas and grade levels to promote a schoolwide approach to disciplinary literacy.
Leading Change for Educational Equity +

Learning Through Writing: A Schoolwide Approach +

This strand builds understanding of learning-through-writing instructional practices, unpacks ways to teach and scaffold focused note-taking, and explores writing strategies to build students’ capacities to access rigorous content and grow as learners.

AVID Elective – New is designed for middle and high school educators serving as new AVID Elective teachers and new AVID Coordinators who teach the AVID Elective class and may also coordinate the AVID College and Career Readiness System (ACRS) at their school site.
AVID Excel® – New (for teachers new to teaching AVID Excel+

AVID Excel – New is designed for AVID Excel teachers, site administrators, and District Directors who are new to AVID Excel. This learning experience will explore the Foundations of Instruction to make informed and intentional decisions about instruction appropriate for long-term English learners.

Creating Engaging and Rigorous Classrooms is designed to empower all elementary through postsecondary educators to create an engaging and rigorous community of learners by preparing educators, counselors, and site leaders to scaffold student success with rigorous content.

Academic Language and Literacy Architects is designed to engage elementary through postsecondary educators in becoming language architects.
No Limits: Transforming Literacy Through Content-Area Reading +

No Limits: Transforming Literacy Through Content-Area Reading is designed to engage elementary through postsecondary educators in realizing what happens when we leverage reading in all content areas to eliminate literacy gaps.
Leading Change for Educational Equity +

Leading Change for Educational Equity is designed to empower site- and district-based leaders to employ a systemic approach to college and career readiness through the implementation of AVID Schoolwide. For an optimal learning experience, attending with a team of at least 3 is highly recommended.

English Language Arts is designed to support ELA educators in grades 6–12.
History/Social Science +

The History/Social Science learning experience is designed for history, social science, and humanities educators (grades 6–12) to apply engaging, inquiry-based strategies that will increase students’ ability to think, read, and write like historians.
Instructional Coaches and Elective Educators +

Instructional Coaches and Elective Educators is designed for grades 6–12 instructional coaches and elective educators (e.g., art, world languages, and music).
Mathematics: Cultivating a Discourse-Rich Classroom – Elementary +

Mathematics: Cultivating a Discourse-Rich Classroom – Elementary is designed to address and meet the needs of elementary educators, counselors, and site leaders to develop mathematicians through cultivating a discourse-rich mathematics learning environment.

The Science learning experience is designed to support science educators in grades 6–12. Educators will experience learning using collaborative structures to build science literacy through inquiry.
