2010 AVID Summer Institutes
Summer Institute is AVID's annual professional development training where contracted sites come to learn the latest in AVID methodologies and strategies to successfully implement AVID in their schools. This year, AVID Center will host eight Summer Institutes in six cities across the country.
SI Updates:
- Dallas 1 kicked off the Summer Institute season with more than 3,600 participants. For more information and to see photos, visit the MyAVID Login page and click through to the Dallas 1 page in the Information Portal.
- Sacramento Summer Institute is now closed to registration as the institute has reached capacity.

Registering for Summer Institute
A MyAVID account and password are required to access the registration system and specific information about each Institute, including strand descriptions, availability, and prerequisites. Visit the MyAVID Login page to log in or to request a MyAVID account and password. Once logged in, click on Information Portal and follow the links to the Summer Institute pages.
New sites in California New middle level and high school sites must contact their AVID Regional Office before registering for Summer Institute. Visit the Contact page to find the office serving your area.
New sites outside of California must have a signed contract with AVID Center before they may register. If you are uncertain of the status of your contract, Contact the AVID Division Office serving your part of the country.
New AVID Elementary sites in all states must have a signed contract with AVID Center before they may register. Contact Sarah Reiswig for more information, at avidelementary@avidcenter.org.

The Registration Deadline is three weeks before the start date of each Summer Institute. Registrations will be accepted on a space-available basis after the registration deadlines.
Incentives & Discounts
In 2010, AVID Center will offer one complimentary registration to existing AVID sites sending teams of five or more to the same Institute. For every four paid attendees, you receive one free. All five attendees must be from the same site and attending the same Institute. This incentive is available to all existing AVID sites - elementary, middle level, and high school.
