Joe Ciccarelli serves as the Associate Vice President of Business Services at AVID Center, where he leads initiatives that drive organizational growth, strengthen financial sustainability, and scale impact in service of AVID’s mission to close opportunity gaps in education.
Over the course of more than 15 years with AVID, Joe has played a critical role in shaping the organization’s financial and product strategies. He has led financial planning and analysis teams responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, ensuring that resources are aligned with strategic priorities. Joe also lends expertise in support of cross-functional efforts to develop and evolve AVID’s product and service offerings, helping the organization remain responsive to the needs of educators and students nationwide.
Joe’s leadership extends to business operations, where he has successfully negotiated complex, high-value agreements with conference venues and strategic vendors, ensuring both cost efficiency and exceptional quality in AVID’s events and services. He also oversees AVID’s Events Team, which designs and delivers high-impact professional learning experiences for educators across the country. AVID’s events, which are are intentionally designed, highly engaging, and deeply mission-driven, energize educators and strengthen the national AVID community. Joe's deep understanding of internal systems and external partnerships has helped position AVID as a national leader in delivering high-quality professional learning experiences.
Joe’s passions for educating future leaders, storytelling, and unlocking the talents of teams to develop strategies that accelerate impact extend beyond his efforts at AVID. He was co-presenter of a presentation on new techniques and best practices for strategic planning processes that empower and engage all staff at the ISTELive conference. He has also taught LSAT, GMAT, GRE, SAT, and ACT test prep to help students be prepared for a crucial step in the journey to achieve their educational goals.
He holds a Master of Business Administration degree, with specializations in Finance and Venture Management, from the University of San Diego and Bachelor of Arts degrees, with majors in Business Economics and Communication, from the University of California at Santa Barbara. His multifaceted career and personal experiences underscore his unwavering commitment to fostering impactful and innovative strategies in business and education.
