AVID Excel® scholars need to be fully prepared for what comes next. AVID has collaborated with Roadtrip Nation, a trusted partner that connects students' interests to career paths that align with their goals and purpose. Together, we provide resources and routines that develop skills in the areas of college, career, and future readiness.
Teacher Preparation
- A Roadtrip Nation account is needed to watch the videos in full. Please create an account on roadtripnation.com by clicking “Sign in” at the top-right corner. Then, click “Create an account.” After creating an account, go to the top-right corner and click “Account Settings.” Then, click “Manage Membership Status” and enter this subscription code: AVIDROADTRIP.
- For background knowledge on each of the speakers, log in to Roadtrip Nation and use the link in the individual lessons.
- For each Scholar Starter slide, click on the person’s photo to watch the video. Be sure to log in to Roadtrip Nation. If there is an error message, go to the top-right corner of the page and log in.
- Each video is approximately 1:00–1:30 minutes in length. Consider having the class engage in multiple viewings to support note-taking and comprehension.
