Showcase Focus:
AVID Elective & Schoolwide Tier 1 Support
Come see how Washington Middle School AVID students develop student agency through building organizational routines, long and short term goal setting, monitoring GPAs, and collaborative discussions. Students increase their opportunity knowledge through guest speakers, field trips, and college and career research projects. The AVID Site Team provides Tier 1 schoolwide support for all WMS students through Binder Boot Camp, AVID student presentations to Advisories and at faculty meetings, AVID schoolwide family nights, and a weekly WICOR Wednesday newsletter.
Does “All Students” Mean “All Students” at Your School or District?
We invite superintendents, district leadership, principals, and teacher leaders to see how schools are implementing AVID nationwide to:
Ensure student success by incorporating WICOR® (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading) strategies throughout all classrooms to support increased rigor schoolwide.
Provide ongoing professional learning for staff and site-based coaching.
Build collective educator agency to transform culture in support of all students.
Align the K–12 college and career readiness journey.
