Showcase Focus:
AVID in Action: Advancing Schoolwide College, Career, and Life-Readiness - At Sierra Vista Middle School, AVID strategies are transforming classrooms into collaborative communities where students actively engage with rigorous content. Through purposeful collaboration, students learn to leverage diverse perspectives and build collective problem-solving skills. Academic language is intentionally embedded across subjects, empowering learners to articulate complex ideas with confidence and precision. Consistent organizational practices provide the structure students need to manage their learning effectively, fostering independence and responsibility. Together, these elements create a schoolwide culture that advances college, career, and life readiness for every student.
Does “All Students” Mean “All Students” at Your School or District?
We invite superintendents, district leadership, principals, and teacher leaders to see how schools are implementing AVID nationwide to:
Ensure student success by incorporating WICOR® (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading) strategies throughout all classrooms to support increased rigor schoolwide.
Provide ongoing professional learning for staff and site-based coaching.
Build collective educator agency to transform culture in support of all students.
Align the K–12 college and career readiness journey.
