Showcase Focus:
WICOR: Foundations for Student Success - AVID principles drive a campuswide commitment to college and career readiness. We intentionally support multilingual learners while creating meaningful opportunities for every student through College Week (college visits), Career Day and Financial Literacy Fairs. Educators participate in targeted professional development, coaching, and TCLCs to embed WICOR routines into daily instruction, with an emphasis on strengthening students’ writing and organizational skills. These coordinated efforts advance AVID’s mission to close the opportunity gap and align with PSJA ISD’s “Opportunities for All,” ensuring every student builds the skills and mindset needed for postsecondary success.
Does “All Students” Mean “All Students” at Your School or District?

We invite superintendents, district leadership, principals, and teacher leaders to see how schools are implementing AVID nationwide to:

  • Ensure student success by incorporating WICOR® (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading) strategies throughout all classrooms to support increased rigor schoolwide.

  • Provide ongoing professional learning for staff and site-based coaching.

  • Build collective educator agency to transform culture in support of all students.

  • Align the K–12 college and career readiness journey.
