AVID Virtual Professional Learning

Event Description:

This AVID Professional Learning Module (APLM) introduces participants to the new AVID Elementary Implementation Tool, emphasizing how it defines and drives strong, developmentally aligned implementation across PreK–5/6 settings. Participants will explore how the tool’s clear indicators and simple progression model support continuous improvement at both the classroom and schoolwide levels. Through intentional connections to the AVID Essential Skills: Elementary Descriptors, participants will examine how student agency, academic preparedness, and opportunity knowledge develop across grade-level bands, while also identifying the educator behaviors that foster and scaffold that growth at each stage. By the end of the session, participants will understand the structure and progression of the tool and feel confident using it to coach sites, facilitate reflection, and identify actionable next steps.
