Event Focus:

Strong Site Teams, Stronger Implementation: Using Continuous Improvement to Deepen Quality AVID

As the school year moves from implementation into reflection and refinement, this workshop invites AVID Site Teams to take stock of their progress and focus on the work that will have the greatest impact moving forward. Participants will explore how effective Site Teams build collective educator agency, strengthen shared leadership, and use continuous improvement practices to advance quality AVID implementation.

Elementary teams will engage with the new Elementary Implementation Tool and consider how its indicators can guide ongoing implementation efforts, while secondary teams will analyze Secondary Implementation Tool results, reflect on Elective Certification and Schoolwide Recognition progress, and identify key priorities for the remainder of the year.

Using implementation data, Site Team planning resources, and the Continuous Improvement Cycle, teams will refine goals, prioritize high-leverage actions, and strengthen plans for monitoring progress. Because many of the key decisions that influence AVID success live within school systems, leadership structures, and instructional priorities, principals and other site administrators are strongly encouraged to attend as active members of the Site Team. Their participation alongside Site Coordinators and teacher leaders helps ensure that planning, decision-making, and next steps are aligned to support strong AVID Electives and sustainable, schoolwide impact.

Participants will leave with greater clarity about their Site Team's role, priorities, and next steps for deepening quality AVID implementation and improving outcomes for students.
