Event Focus:
Elementary Teacher Workshop: Strengthening AVID Implementation Through Essential Skills and WICOR This interactive workshop is designed to support elementary educators in strengthening and sustaining high-quality AVID Elementary implementation. Participants will deepen their understanding of how AVID Elementary aligns with the AVID College and Career Readiness Framework. During the session, educators will connect their current classroom practices to the AVID Elementary Descriptors. Together, participants will analyze how AVID Essential Skills intentionally guide the selection of WICOR strategies to increase student engagement, cognitive rigor, and ownership of learning. This workshop emphasizes practical application, collaborative analysis, and clear connections between framework, descriptors, and daily instruction and empowering teachers to implement AVID with purpose and impact.
