Event Focus:

This workshop focuses on the essential leadership role AVID Site Teams play in advancing and sustaining quality AVID implementation. Participants will examine how effective Site Teams build shared leadership, use implementation data to guide decision-making, and lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen schoolwide impact. Elementary teams will explore the new Elementary Implementation Tool to identify strengths and growth opportunities, while secondary teams will analyze Secondary Implementation Tool results and review progress toward Elective Certification and Schoolwide Recognition. Using the Continuous Improvement Cycle and Site Team planning resources, teams will refine goals, identify high-leverage priorities, and develop actionable next steps for monitoring progress and driving improvement. Because many factors that influence AVID success are shaped through leadership decisions, school systems, and instructional priorities, principals and site administrators are strongly encouraged to participate as active Site Team members. Their collaboration with Site Coordinators and teacher leaders helps ensure alignment, accountability, and sustained momentum for quality AVID implementation. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how Site Teams lead improvement efforts and with a focused plan for strengthening AVID outcomes across their school.
