At IRM, AVID is moving from strategy to culture. Our focus on WICOR, Focused Note-Taking, critical reading, collaboration, organization, and goal setting is creating classrooms where students are not simply receiving their learning they are actively participating in it. The result visitors will see and hear is student agency: students who can explain their learning, advocate for themselves, collaborate with others, and take ownership of their growth.

Please park on the left side of the school in the parking lot that is shared with the Indian River Community Center. Check-In: Visitors will need to check in with our school security using their Government issued ID and receive a visitor sticker to wear throughout the event.
An AVID Showcase is an in-person event where educators can observe AVID strategies in action, share best practices, and learn hands-on about AVID implementations. The experience includes classroom observations, discussions with experienced AVID teachers, administrators, and students, and access to various AVID resources and tools.
Participants are responsible for travel, lodging, and transportation arrangements to and from the event.
