Showcase Focus:
Using AVID to Foster Collaboration and Teamwork

At Sunnyside, we have been an AVID National Demonstration School for nearly two decades with a continued focus on building relationships and establishing a positive, rigorous college-going culture. Our AVID Showcase will highlight the role AVID plays in encouraging rigorous academic work, thoughtful collaborative learning, and building strong relationships and culture across our campus.
Does “All Students” Mean “All Students” at Your School or District?

We invite superintendents, district leadership, principals, and teacher leaders to see how schools are implementing AVID nationwide to:

  • Ensure student success by incorporating WICOR® (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading) strategies throughout all classrooms to support increased rigor schoolwide.

  • Provide ongoing professional learning for staff and site-based coaching.

  • Build collective educator agency to transform culture in support of all students.

  • Align the K–12 college and career readiness journey.
