Empowering High School AVID Elective Teachers: Quality Tutorials, Peer Tutors, and Schoolwide WICOR Integration
Designed with High School AVID Elective Teachers as the primary focus, this Showcase offers high school elective educators a dedicated space to refine core elective practices and see high-impact strategies in action. Step into our learning space, observe live tutorial sessions in action, and collaborate directly with fellow high school AVID teachers to sharpen your instructional practice.
What You Will Experience:
• Dedicated Focus for High School AVID Elective Teachers: Network and collaborate directly with fellow high school AVID Elective teachers to analyze, strengthen, and refine quality tutorial practices. Share site-level insights, troubleshoot common high school tutorial challenges, and leave with concrete tools to leverage peer tutors in the AVID Elective classroom to drive rigorous inquiry and student-led collaboration.
• Campus-Wide Experience for All Visitors: Tour content classrooms to observe how high school teachers are equipped to intentionally integrate WICOR strategies with a strong, site-wide emphasis on collaborative structures to support rigorous instruction across all subjects. Site administrators, coordinators, and visiting educators will also explore Mission Hills High School's strong master schedule design built to sustain a high caliber AVID Elective program.

An AVID Showcase is an in-person event where educators can observe AVID strategies in action, share best practices, and learn hands-on about AVID implementations. The experience includes classroom observations, discussions with experienced AVID teachers, administrators, and students, and access to various AVID resources and tools.
Participants are responsible for travel, lodging, and transportation arrangements to and from the event.
