On Teacher Appreciation Day, we honor the educators who bring AVID’s mission to life in classrooms across the country. AVID teachers help students develop skills that last far beyond one course or one year. They teach students how to organize their thinking, ask meaningful questions, collaborate with purpose, advocate for themselves, and see opportunity as something within reach.
The AVID Elementary and AVID Excel white papers, developed by independent research organizations, are now available. These studies offer rigorous analyses of program implementation, impact, and the conditions that support strong student outcomes across our network.
Over 45 Years of Proven Success
AVID students overcome obstacles and succeed, graduating and attending college at higher rates. More importantly, they think critically, collaborate, and set high expectations to tackle future challenges.
AVID is implemented in more than 7,400 K–12 schools across the United States, plus schools in Washington, D.C., the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), the U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, and Australia.
