Digital Tool Resources

Digital tools are most powerful when they are intentionally aligned to learning outcomes. When integrating technology with WICOR strategies, the focus remains on what students are learning—not the tool itself—so that the right digital resource is selected to support the task at hand. This curated collection highlights how WICOR strategies can be enhanced through purposeful use of digital tools across grade levels, content areas, and learning contexts.

The following sections are designed to support three key audiences: educators seeking to strengthen classroom instruction, AVID Center staff developing professional learning experiences, and AVID Staff Developers preparing digital tools within courses prior to professional learning.

For Educators

A group of people engaging in a collaborative activity within a classroom setting, featuring laptops and other materials on the desks.

Many of the tools featured are modeled throughout AVID professional learning and are free or low-cost, intended to complement—not replace—the digital platforms already supported by districts (such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace for Education, and Apple Education). Each tool includes direct links and, when available, downloadable tip sheets to help users quickly get started and explore multiple instructional applications.
